What is a sprint in agile?
A sprint is a short, fixed period, usually one to four weeks, during which an agile team commits to completing a set of work from its backlog. Each sprint includes planning, daily check-ins, a review of what was built and a retrospective.
Sprint ceremonies
| Ceremony | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Sprint planning | Choose work |
| Daily stand-up | Sync progress |
| Sprint review | Demo results |
| Retrospective | Improve process |
Example
A two-week sprint to ship SSO improvements and fix five customer-reported bugs.
Linking sprints to customers
Connecting tickets to sprint work lets support tell customers when fixes ship.
