Root-cause clusterer
Collapses a spike or backlog of support tickets into probable root-cause clusters, linking related incidents, known bugs, and recent releases from Computer. Use when ticket volume spikes, when the user asks "what's driving all these tickets," mentions a backlog surge, or during incident review.
When to run
- Volume anomaly detected, or on demand during/after an incident
- "What's behind today's spike" / "cluster the backlog"
Computer scopes
- Support: the ticket window under analysis, plus historical baselines
- Engineering: bug tracker items, incident records, release/changelog timeline
- Product usage: affected-feature telemetry where synced
Workflow
- Define the window (spike period or stated range) and establish the baseline rate.
- Cluster tickets by problem signature — symptom language, product area, error strings, affected versions — merging duplicates across channels.
- For each cluster: size, severity mix, affected-account profile, first-seen timestamp.
- Correlate first-seen against the release timeline and open bugs; propose the probable cause with a confidence level and the evidence, clearly labeled as hypothesis, not verdict.
- Link every cluster to matching bug/incident records; flag clusters with no match as candidates for new incident creation (draft, not auto-filed).
- Recommend the mitigation order by blast radius × severity, and draft the internal summary.
Guardrails
- Autonomy: L0. Analyzes and drafts; incident creation and engineering pings are human-approved actions.
- Causal claims are always framed as correlated hypotheses with confidence stated.
Output
Cluster report: headline (N tickets → K clusters) → per-cluster block (signature, size, first-seen, probable cause + confidence, linked records) → recommended mitigation order.Eval fixtures
- Set: 3 synthetic spike scenarios (500 tickets total) with known ground-truth cluster assignments and seeded causal releases.
- Rubric: cluster purity and completeness vs. ground truth; causal release identified in top-2 hypotheses; no unhedged causal claims.
- Ship gate: cluster F1 ≥ 0.85; causal hit rate ≥ 0.8 across scenarios.

Escalation brief
Generates the complete engineering escalation pack for a support ticket — reproduction steps, environment details, timeline, prior contacts, account impact, and related incidents — from Computer history. Use when a ticket needs engineering escalation, when the user mentions escalating, filing a bug from a ticket, or an engineer asks for context on an escalated issue.

KB gap miner
Mines resolved support tickets for recurring questions that have no knowledge-base coverage, ranks the gaps by deflection value, and drafts the missing articles from actual resolutions. Use when the user mentions knowledge base gaps, deflection, self-service improvement, "we keep answering the same question," or content planning for the help center.

Refund approval pack
Assembles a policy-checked refund or credit recommendation — eligibility against written policy, account context, precedent cases, and financial impact — then halts for human approval before anything moves. Use when the user mentions a refund request, credit request, billing dispute, or make-good, or a support ticket contains a refund ask.

Ticket triage router
Classifies incoming support tickets by type and severity, sets priority, and routes to the right queue or owner — attaching a stated reason code and cited precedent for every decision. Use when the user mentions ticket triage, routing, queue management, "tickets are piling up," or wants incoming support volume handled automatically.
